Chocolate and hazelnut bars

Another Madeleine Shaw recipe (I need to branch out!), these chocolate hazelnut snacks are super easy and make a great healthy-ish snack. I've doubled the recipe as the first time I made them I found that the batch was not big enough to make it work the effort. With a combination of both dates and maple syrup, they are also incredibly sweet, so play around with the amount of maple syrup to sort your taste buds. Additionally, I've reduced the amount of chocolate as you don't need much to just dip the corners.

Ingredients:

200g hazelnuts
400g dates
3-4 tbsp maple syrup
A large pinch of sea salt
4 tbsp oats
100g quality dark chocolate

Method:

1. Put everything except the chocolate in the food processor and blitz until smooth.
2. Place the mixture on a baking paper lined tray and roll out so it's 2cm thick.
3. Freeze for around one hour, until hard.
4. Put the chocolate in a heatproof bowl and place it over a saucepan of simmering             water. Stir the chocolate until melted.
5. Remove the mixture from the freezer and cut into bars.
6. Dip the bars into the chocolate and place back on the baking paper to set.
